RACISM

For those of you who wish to connect with me you will quickly discover there are a few things I do not tolerate. One of them is Racism. I have seen a lot of racial slurs being made on the sites I am on. If I witness one of my friends doing it I will remove them and place them on ignore.

One thing I would like to point out to some who claim they are a "Pure Race". There are very few families in this day and age that are made up of one race or nationality. I myself am a blend of several nationalities. Our nation is a melting pot. Chances are even if you are a racist your family is made up of different nationalities or races.

It bothers me in this day and age we still have forms that ask us to check off our race. Why? Not to mention it forces you to chose part of your heritage if you make a selection. Thus meaning you are denying the other part. Which brings me to "Other".
I have always taught my children to check off "Other". I taught them that "Other" on these forms means.
O - Out
T- There
H - Having
E - Every
R - Race

I started writing this blog earlier in the week. It was inspired by a man who made some racial remarks to me. He claimed to be a pure race. However, looking at his picture it seemed obvious that he is not. I asked him what his heritage was. He said his mother is German. I asked what nationality his father is. He told me he never knew who his father was. How can you claim you are a pure race if you do not know who one of your parents are?

The only colors I separate is my laundry. The only race I run against is one I am running in. Please do not bother sending me an invitation if you are racist. It is sad we still deal with this in this day and age. For my friends who are dealing with racists there are two words that go together.."IGNORE IGNORANCE!" Acceptance is desired not required.
